PureU — Privacy Policy
PureU does not collect your data. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Everything the app knows about you stays on your phone.
This policy explains that in full, including the one network request the app does make and why.
Who this policy is from
PureU is published by Riverwolf Enterprises, based in Australia. In this policy, "we" and "PureU" mean the same thing, and "the app" means the PureU iOS application.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not ask for your name, your email, a phone number, or a password. There is no sign-up screen because there is no account to sign up for. We operate no server that stores anything about you.
What the app stores, and where
PureU keeps the following on your device only, using iOS local storage and a private app group shared with its own extensions:
- Your alarm time, chosen wake mission and rep target
- Your focus and bedtime schedule and settings
- Your streak, history and milestone progress
- Your onboarding answers
- The registered code used by the optional night check-in
None of this is transmitted anywhere. It is not backed up to a server of ours, because we do not have one. If your iPhone is set to back up to iCloud, iOS may include the app's local data in your own encrypted iCloud backup — that backup belongs to you and Apple, and we have no access to it.
Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is nothing left behind and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Camera
PureU asks for camera access so it can verify a wake mission or a focus check-in — counting your reps, or confirming that what you are holding up is what the mission asked for.
Camera frames are analysed on your device by Apple's built-in Vision framework. They are not saved to your photo library, not written to disk, and not uploaded anywhere. No image ever leaves your phone. If you decline camera access, missions fall back to motion-based counting where possible.
Motion sensors
Rep counting uses your device's accelerometer. The readings are held in memory for the length of the mission and then discarded. They are not stored and not transmitted.
App blocking and Screen Time
Blocking is enforced by Apple's Screen Time (FamilyControls) system, which requires your explicit permission. When you choose which apps to shield, you do so in Apple's own picker, and iOS hands PureU an opaque token rather than the identity of the apps. PureU cannot see which apps you selected, and cannot see how you use them. We receive no usage statistics of any kind.
Notifications
PureU schedules notifications locally on your device for alarms, wind-down and reminders. It does not use push notifications, and it never registers for or transmits a push token. No notification is ever sent from a server.
The one network request the app makes
PureU uses Expo's over-the-air update service so we can ship fixes without waiting for a full App Store review. On launch, the app asks Expo's servers whether a newer version of the app's JavaScript is available.
| What is sent | The platform (iOS), the operating system version, and the app's runtime version |
|---|---|
| What is not sent | Any identifier for you or your device, and any of the data listed above |
| Who receives it | Expo (Expo Development Tools, Inc.) — expo.dev/privacy |
This is the only outbound request the app makes. Aside from it, PureU works entirely offline.
Purchases
This release of PureU is free and contains no active in-app purchase. If subscriptions are introduced in a future version, they will be processed entirely by Apple. We would never see or store your payment details.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data. We have none to sell.
- We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers or anyone else.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites. The app contains no advertising or tracking SDK.
- We do not build a profile of you.
Children
PureU is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because the app collects nothing at all, there is no children's data for us to hold or to delete.
Your rights
Privacy laws including the Australian Privacy Act, the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export or delete personal information a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. The data on your device is under your control: you can clear it from within the app using Reset app data, or by deleting the app.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts collecting data, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described here rather than buried. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
